Since its so easy to remove the start button panel, it gave me an idea. If you have to park at a remote trailhead or campsite and leave the truck unattended for an extended period, remove the panel and unplug the starter relay. Then place the panel and switch in your backpack and take it with you. Can anyone think of a reason why this would not work?

Thanks for the education. After reading the comments and watching the video. It would seem, that it would be better to start with the spark plugs that are near the firewall first. As one would be fresh and not tired after replacing the the other six. Would it be possible to list all the sockets, lenght of extensions, swivel sockets, etc.

How often should I do that?

BOB! Thank you SO much for this video. I’ve been holding off and doing this for my wife’s car because some other videos made it look harder than it actually was. If I had followed your instructions for removing the seal the first time it would have been even easier. The instructions were detailed and very helpful. Bob, I’ve got a 2020 GX 470 and I’m wondering if you could do an under dash video showing how the OBD two connector supposed to be installed and just a general video of that area. It feels like my connector is loose, not firmly installed like they usually are. I can’t see up underneath the dash but it looks to me like my connector is loose and I suspect there might be a tracking device installed without my permission. I bought the car from a Lexus dealership with 28,000 miles, so I don’t know the previous history.

Take a large pair of channel locks and squeeze the slot tight onto the orange plastic end after you get it back into the slot. Fixed for good!

That is a much better video than the video someone else posted demonstrating how to do the same thing on a 4Runner. That clown failed to explain how to get that plastic cover completely out of the way. I got in there, but didn't have enough space to get that plastic part back in the slot. I'm gong to take another crack at now. The service records for my GX showed the previous owner had this fixed once before at the dealership. The notes for that repair stated that it would cost about $700 to fix it if it happens a second time because they would have to remove the seat from the vehicle. Thanks for the great video.
